My £4 bulbs (blue sidelight/parking lights) from ebay turned up today, so I put them in and they work as described. They are a nice white/blue colour and match the HIDS; the old ones look a lot more yellow when I had both side by side. The Computer likes them as it shows no codes; physically they look the same as the standard ones but are blue instead of clear. I will have to wait for darkness before I can see what they are really like, but it looks good to me.
Here are some daylight pics:
The 1st one shows new bulb on the left, with old yellow bulb on the right
The 2nd is a closeup of the new bulb
The 3rd shows the empty packet
I am well pleased so far & will try to take some pics tonight after dark
I'm ready to buy some of these HIDs now so have just read through the thread again - just to be sure I have a 2003 E46 - do I need the bulb adaptors as well as the HID kit or just the HID kit as some said about not needing them as they had a 52 plate facelift model.
looking at your ebay links earlier on it the thread the geezer sells them and then lists some for the E46 that are more expensive - is it the same kit or does it have specific adaptors or something?
Should I just buy the generic ones and the E46 bulb holders?
All aftermaket HID kits will use THESE H7 holders fzbucks...but I have come across some people who have modified their current haolgen ones with a dremel.
I was just wondering what the difference apart from the price was between the e46 hid kits and the hid kits the same person is selling on ebay - from reading the adverts his e46 specific kits don't contain anything different.
If you are looking for a good white light Halogen main beam bulb, In my Corrado I've just replaced my Phillips extreme 80% more light, with some half price Halfords 90% more light bulbs and whilst they are not much brighter, they are a very white blue light that matches HID dipped beams, highly recoomended.
They wern't so bad during daylight hours then!!!:hihi
They are still slightly better than my Phillips ones, which were about the best halogens out there (legal)
