I wouldn't bother mate. It's gonna be really blue and Mr PC Plod will take offence. It'll look cool but you'll be nipping your arse on the seat every time you pass a cop car, not worth it imo. If you do it though, post some pics cos they do look cool as a cucumber!

Plus the fact that you won't be able to see shit..

I got some 3k hids that looked super from the outside. They lasted two days before I put the 6k jobbies back in. The blue will be worse than the yellow I had and it bugged the hell out of me.

Standard kit is 4.3k which is normal white light, 5s and 6s are the CCFL nuclear flash white.

Any more than that and people will be checking bank notes in your headlights, the light gets very blue and doesn't go anywhere either.

The light gets an obvious blue / purple tinge which will draw a lot of attention from the other road users that use blue lights!

The sell well with the Ripspeed generation, who just want the biggest number on the box, but they give terrible performance.

cheers for the response guys !

i currently have an 8000 kit for my dipped beams, but i was expecting them to a bit more blue than they actually are. I was considering getting some 10k bulbs but ill probably give that a miss from reading the above.

as they are at the moment they do look good from the outside, and give a good amount of light for when im driving, so ill probably stick with them. atleast I know Its unlikely ill get pulled over for having them. whereas 10k i definitely would.

    cheers again !

It's hard to get the true effect in a photo, but there's an idea.

I went even one better, had 12000K in my old pug. Couldn't see naff all at night but made the signs in the distance reflect like the moon

Never got pulled either. I've got 8000k in my BMW, had 10000K before i'll try find a pic. Theres not that much difference between the two when looking at the lense but light output on the road is decreased by using 10000k

Poor picture but this was a few weeks after I got my car - 10000K 35 watt kit

And what the 10000k looks like on the floor...

I'll see if I can find a pic off my 12000K lights that were on my pug. not dark blue to look at but very lightly blue/purple (not dark) tint.
