Bought some new door pins for my z4. I thought they just screw in after you screw off the original ones, but I can't screw off the originals - they seem sturdy and I don't want to break the old ones and mess things up - any ideas?

    Door pins?

Do you mean for the door hinges?

More info needed please and a picture of the part your talking about would be helpful.

Also, what is the reason you need to fit new door 'pins'?

The door pins are the locking pins at the top of the door - push it down to lock the door. I want to change to chrome pins - bought them from ebay -

    Oh.

Im 99% sure they are a screw fit. meaning your old ones will unscrew.

The best thing to do is

1/ check inside the new door pins that there is a thread? If there is and they are for your car your golden.

2/Get a thin cloth and some good gripping pliers. wrap the cloth one turn around your current door knob (pull it to the top in ful open position) and then grip it with the pliers.
Then just rotate it anti clockwise.
    It should start to undo...
