    i stand corrected a wheel made with slits in the back! seems very un bmw like.

    I agree,

    Surely those designers could have thought of something a bit better than cutting holes in the wheel!

    Then again you would never notice if it was mounted on the car

    I work for BMW and even though i dont work in the service department. It is a well know fact that if you are removing the E90 steering wheel no slit holes are put it at the factory so in order to remove the airbag you have to make the insisions at the back of the wheel.

    They are not noticeable once the wheel is fitted.
