hi guys,i recently bought some centre caps off ebay that where chrome backs with stick on fronts and they didnt fit properly so i stuck tape on them to get them to stay put, however after having the car washed i noticed one had gone so im on the lookout for some decent proper fit centre caps, can anyone recommend some carbon look caps that fit and look nice!
    cheers glen

    Hey

    Sorry to hear that.

I believe I bought mine from CA Automotive. Paid a bit over the odds though :p

A lot of places seem to sell the same ones. I've got the ones with a hard plastic back. You may think that the plastic ones would be crappy but I've experienced no peeling or fading of any kind. I've had mine for nearly a year and wash my car pretty much every weekend.

They have recently brought out some similar to above^ but with a chrome surround around the emblem (not backing). They may be good also but I'm not 100%. The only reason I mention it is because my plastic ones have a very slight creamy/grey plastic surround around the emblem. It's not noticeable unless you stare at it but then again I don't really mind on mine as it actually matches my wheels! Chrome with my black wheels would ruin the effect (as I've dechromed everything).

    Thanks

Hmm.... no wonder. Sorry, but they look like cheap crap.

If you do take my advice, you're looking for ones similar to my first reply above. I found a different seller which I believe are selling the same ones but you'll get to see different pics
BMW Carbon Fibre Alloy wheel center badge caps 68mm set(4) M3-M-E46-320-318-330I | eBay

EDIT- just noticed my first link ARE the new chrome (but still plastic) ones. Hee hee. You should be safe as long as they have the prongs.

They are completely different to your chrome ones as these plastic are complete replacements of your OEM. They have prongs that clip inside your wheel. You'll need to get the old caps completely removed. They are not stick on. I believe you'll need a rubber/wooden mallet to remove the old ones (by knocking them GENTLY from behind the wheel). Maybe ask someone else on here how to remove as I got mine fitted by mstyle when they changed my wheels. If you're very very lucky, you may be able to use a miniture dent remover (suction cup) to remove your old ones. I didn't have much luck doing this myself as the surface was too bumpy and hence I couldn't get a vacuum in place.

Let me know if you have any more qs. Happy to help
