My old thread seems to of died a death, and since I've taken some pictures of the car in natural light this morning I thought I'd share with you all....

    So what have I done?

Well aside from the usual snow foam prep ect ect...

Clayed - Megs quick clay kit.

Machine polished - Megs G220 polisher with Menzerna pads and polishes (the polishing pad wasnt touching the swirls so I used the compounding pad with Power Finish polish and then topped it off with the finishing pad with Final Finish polish.

Wax - I've used Collinite No. 845 Insulator Wax. I've found this much better than the 476s.

Took just under 13 hours overall......

You reflection whores are gunna love the first pic

Yep... I cant begin to tell you how time consuming its been getting the car to this condition.... Every second has been worth it though, not a stone chip, swirl mark or scratch in sight - and its all the original paintowrk too
Car looks as good as the ones in the showroom so I'm mega pleased with it... just gotta keep it looking this good now lol the inside is just as perfect too... that took a whole day to detail aswell

lmao you're the second person to ask me that! Sadly I'm one of these people who cant cut corners.... so even if I tried to rush it you'd still be looking at a good 12 hours work! Do it urself man.... its much much more rewarding

Only the second ! Much more rewarding if I do it ................
Hmmmm much easier if you do it for me.

Seriously though top quality work Matt.

How did you manage to get rid of all the stone chips and scratches, mine is covered in them

Amazingly it doesnt really have any stone chips!!
I bought it in July this year.... I was lookin at CI's and Compacts but I wanted one in PERFECT condition. Then I found this.... 50k on the clock, one owner, FSH and most improtantly to me stunning condition. After the legal battle I'd had with VW's bodyshop, I also wanted a car that had never visited a bodyshop. So the fact that it was a saloon didnt bother me because it ticked every other box better than I could of hoped really. Even the edges of the doors where people usually open them into walls and things are perfect. It had clearly been looked after. Apart from swirl marks and a few scratches on the back bumper that polished out it was perfect. I know what you mean about the stone chips though.... some of the Compacts I viewed had more stone chips than paint on the bonnet
