    Hi there,

I have an 04 plate E46 318i sport convertible, with the hard top roof for winter. However the previous owner bought the roof after the car and it is an SE roof, so has the chrome trim on the sides.

I want the black sport trim ideally to match the rest of the car. I rang BMW and they wanted £400 for the black trim and I rang a vinyl wrapping place to wrap the trim in gloss black and they wanted £200. Both of those prices are ridiculous!

Does anyone know where I could maybe pick up some used black strips for the roof or somewhere that would wrap them for a decent price?

    Many thanks in advance
    Ben

Thanks for the reply, I have had a look on breakers websites but if they had any cars with hardtops they just sell the hardtops on ebay..I was considering wrapping it myself but dont know how good it would look or if it would come off eventually

    Hi

I am your perfect solution, as i have the opposite to you ...

e46 2001 330ci hardtop ( was off a M3) with black trims and my car has chrome trim, which does not look right.

so if you like how about a straight swop...your chrome for my black?

I do not know how easy it is to remove the trims , so if your up for it and someone can explain the steps, i am willing to do the deal and post them to you free of charge...what a plan.
