    As titled.

    I know they will definitely fit, but will it cause any issues with the level of drop or handling?

    Coilovers are generic across the E46 engine range, so don't see they the lowering springs will be any different.

    Anyone shed any light on this?

    yeah might cause a problem due to the weight of the engine being vastly heavier than the petrol

    If you were to use Eibach springs as an example the 330i and 330d use 2 different kits.
    330ci = E2067-140 Maximum Front Axle Load = 970k Maximum Rear Axle Load = 1100kg
    330cd = E10-20-001-01-22 Maximum Front Axle Load = 1030kg Maximum Rear Axle Load = 1100kg

    so I'd say no you need specific springs for the 330d
