Anyone know where I can get a good quality front bumper lip in the same style as Alpina B10 or similar?

My front bumper has a bit of damage on the underside from the previous owner which is the only damaged bit of bodywork on the whole car. A front bumper lip would hide this nicely and I reckon would give the car a more purposeful look from the front (although not quite sure how to get a decent paint match and then fix it on - will come to that later though!).

Just took a look at M Style and they have loads of goodies for the E39 . Being a bit tight though, I ended up buying a replica Alpina Lip from a well known internet auction site. Hopefully the quality will be as good as the picture and description indicates.

Should arrive within the next week or two. I'm planning on filling in the 'Alpina' writing on the lip to give a smooth look (and stop any injustice to genuine Alpina's out there!), primer, sand, paint laquer etc.. and then fix on. Hopefully won't look too DIY (or else will be coming straight off again!).

Can anyone recommend a decent epoxy or other adhesive for bonding the lip spoiler on to the original bumper?

Well after several weekends and many evenings spent working away in the garage, it's done!!

As planned I have filled over the 'Alpina' writing to give a smoother look but otherwise the front lip is an exact replica of the Alpina item.

Got the paint (Biarritz Blue) from 'Paints 4 U' which was delivered next day. The colour match is absolutely spot on. Would recommend them to anyone.

Finally, I bonded the new lip to the original bumper using Tiger Seal (Thanks 328 Mark) which has produced a very strong bond.

Very happy with the finished look - will get some photos up when I have a chance (and update my signature footer photo)
