Hello, I'm new on here and I'm trying to fix my Dad's car, but I'm stuck.

The car is a 1995 E36 coupe and the bottom of a front wing had rotted away, so I cut off the rusty section, made up a new part, and welded it on, but I don't know the name or the paint code for the grey paint I need to finish it.

I'm referring to the grey that is used on the sills and bottom of the front wings on most E36 cars.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for responding.

The plate gives us the code for the main cody colour, but not the grey on the sills and bottom of the wings. My Dad did go to a BMW main dealer and asked them but they couldn't help, so perhaps we will have to try BMW UK.

Sounds like now would be a good time to invest in some side skirts or just spray the same colour as the rest of the car after treating it

You are talking about the weather/stone guard strip at the bottom aren't you

    Hello,
I had a calypso red e36 convertible with the grey skirting finish you are talking about. I rang my BMW dealer and they called it light grey. I have written off the car but still have the aerosol paint spray can unused: only bought last month. We could do a deal?

    Adrian.
