I'm in the middle of doing the whole front of my car Wings, Bumper and Front grill panel. The wings only had a little rust bubbles on them, but thats the tip of the iceberg so to speak.
But when you take them off the back of the wings are rotten with rust. If you rub down and paint just the outside, it will come back because its starts rusting from the inside out.
So I have bought two new wings and a front grill panel. Ive taken some pictures of the car showing the old wings with the rust on the inside and outside will post them when Ive a chance.

Don't Know if this is true or not but was told that the coupe was less susceptible to rust, because it was made in a different country I may be talking Sh*te but I'm sure someone will correct me.

Not one spot of rust yet on my '99 E36 coupe. My '94 saloon only had a couple of really small bits of rust near rear wheel arches but hardly noticeable.

I had a new rear arch welded in because it was showing signs of bubbling but when you ran your hand round the inside it was really bad
