    Hi,

I am thinking about changing the front end of my bmw e36. I want to change the front to wings from e36 to the vented e46.

Does anyone know how easy this is to do??

Also i want to change the front bumper again from a e36 to a e46 bumper possible a m3 one, again does anyone know how easy this is to do??

I have seen conversation on the internet e36 to e46 however these have all been coupe and not any others. I have a saloon!! If these turns out to be not be bad then i will have to try it out (would be a nice little project) however if its to hard then i wont bother as i dont have the time.

    Z

It's not easy but it has been done before-there are sveral companies that sell aftermarket kits...reiger is one of them Might be cheaper for you though to just get an E46?

Yea this is one of the sites i looked at.

It would be easy just to buy a e46 i know! However i want it looking a bit different rear as e36 and front e46. just makes the car stand out a little more.

plus i have a lot of spare time atm!!

    Well, on the negative side...
    • it isn't an easy conversion
    • it would require a full front end respray probably costing more than the value of the car
    • most people who would want an E46 would buy one
    • it will be expensive and difficult to insure or sell
    • if you don't tell your insurers you'll be driving uninsured
    • you will be without the car while doing the conversion
    • after all your time, effort and money you will have devalued the car
    • Instead of being amazed or impresssed prepare yourself for the majority of people who will just ask why did you bother?
    On the plus side..
    • you can say you have done something that others have already done.
    • It will look different
Sorry not to be enthusiastic about this but these are Marmite cars - you either love or hate them.

Personally I always appreciate a well looked after original E36 than one that has been "modded".

If it were me I'd just buy some nice wheels and try and keep it well maintained - you'll get more admiring looks from BMW lovers that way!

If you want to look different why not stick a Moris Minor front end on it, otherwise buy a E46

For the money you would spend would you not be better getting an e46 and modding it to your own style? Not tryin to discourage you or anything mate if you feel strongly about doing it then fair play just seems am awful lot of time and effort .

Only do it if you dont want to sell the car in the future... Other wise why not make a wide body kit for it... as you got the time why not design a front bumper made out of carbon fiber to resemble a E46...

Just a thought but good luck to what ever you do... do
