Ive just fitted ccfl angeleyes to my 328 and have decided to leave out the small sidelight bulbs, is doing this worthy of a tug from the plod? I could do without the grief that the plod would give me so would put the bulbs back in without any hesitation. any advice would be appreciated.

Had mine in for well over 2 years now and never had a problem from the Plod I just reread your question and have to add that I have white LED bulbs in the sidelights but I know many people who have taken these bulbs out with no problems and as you say you can pop them back in if you have too

Mine are out.... didn't even consider leaving them in to be honest.

    Have I missed a trick?

I took mine out too and didn't leave them in, didn't see the point.
You won't have any trouble with police as long as the CCFLs are yellow or white in colour. Blue, Red or any other colour may get you pulled over.

It's funny this topic has come about, as I've had a couple of community support officers check out my angel eyes before... both stopped in front of my car and starting pointing at my headlights..... I didn't think much of it at the time and they didn't say anything

This thread has certainly pricked my ears up, as when i fitted mine i cut and soldered the original wires to my Angel fitments and binned the original sidelight holders!!!

Dont want any issues at M.O.T!!

As said though, if they are white/yellow they should be ok... its just weather the M.O.T tester is an anal git and contests the fact they werent on the car from factory??

Must remember to buy my mechanic a beer in the pub tonight

I also binned the original sidelight holders - my car passed MOT no problem with the angel eyes in so no need to worry
