Evening all, on Sunday I finally completed a long term project on my E36 coupe, I've thus far refurbed and fitted a set of contour II's and have been collecting ///M goodies piece by piece for months. The project culminated in me giving the car a full respray (colour changed).
The car was painted inside and out in 327 santorini blue and now looks a completely different car.
I haven't painted in over 10 years so a little rusty to say the least but the job came out ok.
I painted in a friends double garage, no vac booth I'm sorry to say so as you would expect a certain amount of paint bounced and settled on the car giving that gritty feel in places. Going back to my days as a painter wet flatting and a good buff with G3 was the answer, but I am reading about clay bar kits as being ideal for this kind of paint correction.
Can anyone with a bit more up to date experience recommend one or the other methods for me, and if clay is the way to go, is there any particular kit or brand you can recommend?
Thanks in advance.
