just looking for the donor now, the old e23 old 745 was a straight six with 252bhp! desperatly tryin to find one, dont want to canabalise an m535 that i found or a 635csi that would be a crime!

Plumb is the m30 a carb engine? would that be the 535i? doesnt matter if its a touring does it? i found some of them old 735's and 535's are v8's?! does anyone just happen to have a big 6 with auto box?

I thought the 745i was a smaller engine with a turbo and very rare, a M30 is a injection engine in the E34 535i and it fits well because the sump is right for the E30 engine cross member
Doesnt matter if it's a touring but they didn't do a 535i touring, the V8 engine would be more difficult to do.

M30 shouldn't be too difficult, the M20 even easier

You can get a M20 2.5 to a reliable 200bhp, why not buy a 525e in E28 shape, use the engine and put a 325i head and highlift cam on it with a good exhaust and 6 branch manifold, the 525e is a low compression 2.7 the other work will make it pretty quick with some grunt and it'll sound right too.

E28 525e are all autos and cheap, otherwise a 325e.

Be a quick car when done.
