To bring the subject up to speed, the mothers decided after saying shes not moving for a while to tell me that shes sold the house and is moving out on friday, so i've had to put in some solid hours to try and get the beemer finished asap.

I've done most of the work on it but figured that to get the body perfectly prepped for paint it would take weeks, so considering i havent got weeks to prep it never mind spray, i've had to resort to a quick paint job as a temporary measure.

Anyways, i've gone for matt black, just for something different, but mostly cos its cheap and easy to do, and it will help take the eye off the various areas that aren't perfect until I have time to get the finish done to a higher standard.

I got to thinking that the matt black is all a bit bland and needed something to break it up slightly, and I've had a blast and done this. bear in mind the matt paint is a bit darker in person, the flash has made the gloss part seem more constrasting than it is..

opinions good or bad as if its just me being daft and it looks crap i have time to undo it, so to speak... (ignore the dust also, 'tis filler dust)

Before (ish, before the matt stage)

    After

It doesn't look too bad if it's temporary, will you get it done properly in the future?

Looks quite decent to me actually..

I'll get better photos when I can, in some ways in looks worse in the photo than in real life.

I'm going as quick as I can on it really, got the passenger side mostly finished, still needs a bit of work on the drivers side, its all come in the week of my end of year module exams. bleugh.

Looks good to me mate was thinking of doing it to mine as it's an east way of tidying it up since most of it below the roof now needs tidying but I'm still not sure about having it permanently...............

when its all done i'll have pics up and it will give an indication of how it looks generally.

I intend on doing a better job in the future, i'm just one of those people where if I want to do it properly i'll be a perfectionist, and it would need a few weeks of prepping and filling every little mark and sanding every scratch, and I only have til friday!

this way it covers the imperfections, is easy to do, is quick and maybe something a bit different at the same time.
