As a self confessed cleaning addict(with regards to my car that is)i recently decided to find out what all the fuss is with the dodo juice range of waxes, so i got myself down to performance motorcare and picked up a panel pot of purple haze and a panel pot of supernatural.
I decided to have a go with the purple haze first as its supposed to be exellent on dark coloured cars so after a quick layer of my usual glaze(poorboys blackhole) i cracked on with the purple haze, the wax went on and buffed off ok but thats all it was at best was ok! A little bit annoyed i sought advice on detailing world and clean your cars forums and came to the conclusion on the advice given that some pre wax cleanser was required so i promtley got some of dodos lime prime lite and decided to have another go at the car!
After using the lpl(which impressed with its ease of use and finish)i went at the car with the dodos top wax supernatural, after an initial coat there was that something missing so i decided it was a second coat that was needed, fortunatley this worked well and gave the car a pretty reasonable finish, detinatley a cut above the purple haze, but only just on par with my usual wax of choice vics concours.
So this is my personal conclusion that if you want a wax for dark colours you can do much better than purple haze, the one springing to mind being poorboys nattys paste blue which is just as good, and as easy to use and the best bit half the price! As for supernatural it is easy to apply and remove and once a couple of layers are on it gives a nice finish without dulling and reducing flake pop in dark metallics such as mine, the biggest problem i have with the product im afraid is the price when from what ive seen my 2 usuals(vics concours and autoglyms high def) match the dodo at half the price, the only way it can redeem itself is with mega durablity over winter, but i believe ag and vics are both fairly durable so only time will tell!

same here, i was not that impressed with the purple haze on my cosmos black 540i, and after about a week the beading stopped and the wax was virtually washed away, i put it on ebay the day after so some mug can try it.

i have gone back to collinite which i still rate very highly.

i feel that the dodo range is just a "scene" wax that everybody feels like they have to use.

Totally agree about it being a "scene" wax, ive used it now and wont be purchasing full size pots thats for sure, collis is very good infact i did my winter prep on the partners vauxhall this week, blackhole(2 coats) then collis 476s (2 coats 12 hours apart), should see it through for 6 months or so

its a product by poorboys aimed at darker coloured cars but works on all colours, a glaze with filling capabilites, its one of the best glazes on the market and produces a really deep wet shine once topped with wax, the partners car has recieved numerous comments on how shiney it is since being done

I'm not sure that labelling it as a "scene" wax is totally fair. I've found some dodo products to be very average, ie lime prime, but I think that the supernatural is a very good wax and is as good as if not better than most i've tried. The best combination for me on my imola is redmoose followed by supernatural.
