I am thinking of getting some Detailing Clay from Bilt Hamber. They sell two types, original and smooth. To my knowledge my car has never been done before.

Anyone have any idea which I should buy?

    Cheers.

The original bilt hamber clay is quite harsh so I'd say avoid that unless yu know the abraviseness that you require. The smooth one is one that I will be trying (for the sake of trying it that is) in the future. I do use Bilth Hamber auto balm and auto foam and tbhey are superb products at good prices. Bilth Hamber also has a good reputation within the detailing sector.

Sonus Ultra Fine detailing clay is probably the most popular amongst detailers. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detail...2/prod_37.html

I am currently using meguiars smooth surface clay kit (about £11/15 from Halfords, you get 2 blocks of clay and a bottle of quick detailer). I have found that to be very effective and the fact it comes as a package is very handy (saves you having to purchase lube additionally). This is the result I got with my clay, didn't get the best result as it was too hot but the car looked stunning stood in the car park in the sunlight; (only washed the car, clayed it and went over it with some of that new Turtle Ice Wax).

Thanks DSK. The reason I went for the Bilt Hamber was because it could be used with just plain water, no fancy potions. I think I shall try the mildest one first.

Your car looks good. I also like your C70 T5 GT, one of my favourites, although I have never owned one.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the compliment. That's whats good about the bilt hamber stuff, it can be economical to use. Oh take a look at this claying video, it will help you with claying for the first time.

The C70 T5 was a surprise, only drove it as my uncle was drunk, within yards I was at its effortless pace and comfort. Within 30 minutes I wanted it. My uncle owned it from new, with FVSH, average service bills are around £600 a piece lol, so its well cared for. When he said he was selling it, I bought it and to this day, its the only car that i'm not bored of, even compared to my old E34 M5 lol.
