Has anybody had any experience of this stone chip cover system ?

I have seen it on ebay.com for a while, but with shipping it seemed too expensive, so armed with my VAG forum discount I have just purchased some for my BMW from the UK supplier whom I had not seen before at a more reasonable price.

I await with interest and will post results, first job to sort out my stone chipped aero spoiler

Sounds like a normal touch up stick but with filler properties like a filler primer.

Post up your results when you get it

It is not cheap, just need to see if it works out cheaper than getting my plastic sticky on spoiler re-painted. It doesn't half pick up some debris.

It's took me a while, but got around to using it today.

Firstly, I clayed the area I was going to treat, namely the front splitter, before doing anything.

Stage 1; This involved painting the affected area liberally with paint, going as far as to smearing it over the chips with your finger (covered in glove)

Stage 2; This involved rubbing away the excess paint with the special 'Blending Solution' to a point where the chips are filled in and the good paint is clear of any new paint. Interestingly, you don't get much of this solution with the kit, and as such I reckon you will end up with a lot of paint left and no solution in the kit.
However, I reckoned that this must just be some acetone or something similar. So I used a little petrol to see how it worked and it did exactly the same job.

Stage 3; Just a pigmented polish.

End Result; I have posted up the before and after picture of the O/S splitter. This was one coat. I eventually moved on to do the whole of the splitter twice and pretty much all the chips are covered.

Verdict; Quite expensive, but quite pleased. Be interesting to see if you could just use paint from a bodyshop to get the same effect as all you are doing is putting lots of paint on and wiping the excess off.

    They were indeed.

Just took delivery of a kit to do the wife's Golf today

Talking to the guy, he seemed quite keen on having a demo morning at his place in Banbury if enough members are interested
