Just make sure you don't rub through the resin to the carbon fabric as it tends to make the subsequent coats go cloudy. If the resin is quite thin then you are better off making sure what you've got is dust free and laying some more coats of resin on and then rubbing down.
When you enough resin on and get it smooth, give it a good rub down with some 800 or 1000 grit using plenty of water and then a couple of coats of clear automotive laquer to get a great shine, leave the coats 10mins to go tacky before putting another one on. It'll look dull after the rub down but the clear coat will bring the shine right out.
When you are rubbing it down and trimming off the excess make sure you don't have any exposed skin (wear long sleeves, gloves and an old scarf) and you absolutely MUST wear a face mask. If you don't you'll itch like mad and the carbon dust is extremely damaging to your lungs.
Its looking good so far
