Hi, been lurking but never posted until today.

Had a little knock on the front bumper. Insurance company did not approve BMW Main Dealer quote and are encouraging me to use Balgores Motors Ltd which is part of their network of approved repairers. Does anyone have reviews for this bodyshop company?

I found a few reviews online: everything from last year was well reviewed but those from this year did not score so highly.

A side question: my insurance company declined to authorize the repair quote from a BMW dealer. Is that normal practice to encourage a repair is done using their own network of repairers?

    Thank you.

is that the one on behind gallows corner? I had my old 330 sport bumper done there and they did a good job. They do lots of executive cars there so...

I actually got it quoted at bmw and my ins ok'd it but then bmw use balgores for there repairs as they dont have a bodyshop at the harold wood dealers. Got a 3 year warranty with the work.

Apologies for the long time thread resurrection - I'm just wondering whether the OP or any other person has experiences with Balgores. I've been rear-ended by another car, which will require at least the Boot, Rear Bumper and Exchaust to be replaced. This is one of the garages that my insurance company has put forward (which also seems to be "BMW Approved"). I'm not sure how much difference the Approval makes (given my 120d is 4 years old so out of warranty), but at the end of the day, just want a good job done!

I've been asked by my insurer, Elephant, to go to their approved workshop, Balgores.

The limited reviews (and 1 customer action group post) I found online has been negative and they're putting me off this place.

Any positive comments to sway this around? Anyone been using Balgores?

Worst repair (well I say repair) ever, worst cutomer service ever. If something goes wrong they fob you off with',well, we do deal with 1500 cars a month sir' 4times my vehicle was returned and its still not done! Aviva have now (after it was independantly assessed) told me to find another garage to get the work done. The managing director took personal chatge after it was returned the 3rd time, but still it was not done. They attempted to de fraud Aviva by charging them for a new tailgate, it was plainly the old one, but they swore blind it was new .When asked to supply part numbers it was a case of ',oh sorry breakdown in communication' ,(well they do deal with 1500 cars a month!)Please dont take your car there ,there are plenty of other smaller garages that wont try and rip you off and do a patch up job and try to have you over.
