I nearly did this recently - a pigeon flew straight into my grill and ruined it
Thought about getting a black grill but after a simple photoshop I decided it didn't look right on a silver car.

I voted yes as I fancy doing it to my car. If you have black bumper inserts and rubbing strips then (as I do) then I think it suits it better. Not so keen on the silver car in the link posted above as they're the only black parts.

In my opinion I think you should stick to the 330 chrome grills...they look very nice. Black ones will make your car look tacky.

Agreed you need other black parts for the look to work. Why dont you just go to scrappies get a set of grilles for a fiver or whatever and spray them black for another fiver. Fit them and then make your mind up. It has to be one of the simplist mods you can do. Problem with forums is you get wrapped up in the talk and "must be new" and you forget all about the real world. If you really like the look then keep them or buy a set of black ones that someone else sprayed for £30. I decided I like my black grilles but then I'm not sure on them from the side but I'm in an e36.
Have fun mate let your hair down and live a little.

cos no scrappers sell them seperate "used" they go with the bonnet.

If i could afford the £60+ the stealer want i'd get the originals as i do quite like them.

WOW!!! really? crikey I reckon I could get any part from my scrappy as long as I pay Surely you could get them from ebay or put a wanted add in the forums? Still think you could do it cheap. Do you have black on the front of your car? Never seen the front of your car

Hehe yeah, the 4dr's have a grille 98/01 - nice one. I'll have a ship around ebay etc ring a few people - when i spoke to quarry motors they said i'd have to buy new ones they dont sell them 2nd hand unless it's on a bonnet.

£32.50 starting bid... (delivered) 6 days left, i'd probably pay up to £40 for the pair. (delivered)
