Went out in the Puma today and noticed just how bad the paint was looking

Could'nt have that so out with the Rotary and a few bits to see what i could do. Bare inmind im no detailer [like Perfection Detailing aka Neil] but i will have a go at anything

As you may be able to see,the swirling was quite bad [hard to get a image of it without a decent light]

So i thought i would make a start with the 3M

The 3M made a bit of an impact but, could cut quick enough in the time i had.

So i had a go witn the Menz 203s

Gave it a few passes and it was getting rid of the swirls but, not the fine scratching. May need a more aggresive pad

Really needed more time but, the car was needed for work so i had to stop.
Anyway, like i say its nowhere near the standard that Neil gets to but, not to bad

Yes mate its specifically for removing swirls and holograms. Works very well on light swirling but struggles on deeper stuff.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

    too cheap??

i'm thinking of getting that, some cutting compound and a finishing compound (probably cost around £80-90 total) and have a go at mine and my mrs' car.. if I can't get on with it or its sh*t could always flog it on couldn't I??

If it was me i would sooner go for this then spend a few quid on backing plates and pads.

    http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polish.../prod_513.html

Backing plates you can get from Toolstation for as little as £4. That way you can buy the pads you want rather than just use whats in that kit, as in all honesty, they are likely to be sh1te!

thats cheap mind isn't it!? looks pretty good piece of kit aswell..

I guess if I bought that one and some menzerna pads and a cheap backing plate the total amount would probably be close to the amount of the kit on ebay!

It would probably be less. The silverline is a good piece of kit to get you into it. Mine is a older Silverline.
