Hi all.... About to go and do my first 'decent sized shop' for Car Care Products, and want to go to the right place(s) to get some of the best products at good prices! As I'm new to the fantastic BMW World, I don't know of any good independent stores in the Nottinghamshire area (If anyone is from Notts and has some recommended outlets please let me know) so will probably at this stage stick to chain outlets, I also dont have access to Costco (who I understand is a great place for the bargain basics).

At this early stage, I want to keep to the basics, Wash/Clean, Polish, alloys/tyres,interior, and get comfortable and confident in this world before I try anything more complex. So just after the Essentials..

What I'm hoping for from you great people (By the way, I'm loving this forum so far, been so helpful so far) is:
    1. Best place to get a wide range of 'the basics'? (And I mean basics, currently have sponge, car shampoo, and a chemical alloy cleaner).

    2. I've read shed loads of threads on here suggesting products, and seen past autoexpress awards BUT could do with a basic list of suggested products: i.e. - Polish, Alloy Cleaner, Wash/Cleaning Mits & Chamois, tyre cleaner, and interior cleaning products (leather care & plastic dashboard etc)

Sorry if you feel this has been covered many times over in the past but basically I'm sh!t at this!!! Just a list of an outlet and a few essential products from you ladies n gents who have been buying products for your pride n joy for years.

Cheers folks, loving how helpful the people on this site are, I think the forum is absolute quality already, and thanks for all your help....

    Dan

    can't help with a local place...soz
there are several online retailers that offer great prices...probably better than shop prices due to no overheads
as to makes,i was a big fan of autoglym stuff until i tried meguiars products...do a google for meguiars gear and it should point you towards some cheap suppliers too.
if you want to spend a bit more on a superior product check out zymol or dodo juice ranges...if you've won the lottery then swissol(now swissvax) stuff is one of the best around.
    what i've felt,what i've known
never shined through in what i've shown.

Have a look in Halfords. They have just done a big reduction on Autoglym stuff in my local branch.
