It really is good to see how all you guys really think about getting your cars looking the biz. I like a clean car as well but i guess im just a lazy B. All ive ever done is give it a wash n then some Demon Shine and im good to go!

Always thought about all the fancy cleaners but im going to go for it now. Plenty info/ tips on here so ive NO excuses

Something like this i guess, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/180MM-950W-POL...item3cab9c6db5

    Or http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/110W-10-ELECTR...item2c534da592

I was always lead to believe the cheaper ones werent worth much cop, but surely they would be a bit quicker than doing it by hand, even if the result was the same as by hand and not the professional polish/wax job.

ok guys, at halfords as most of you may know they have 3 for 2 on all car cleaning products, now i have 5 things in mind but can only pick 3, so wht would you pick?

for car shampoo's, pick one out of these 2:

-Meguiars Gold Class Car Shampoo and Conditioner

-Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash and Wax Kit

for polishes, what 2 autoglym products would you choose, (out of the 3 stage autoglym, do you actually need all 3) ?

To be honest your going to do more harm than good..

the first one is a rotary and a cheap one so the torque is awful and will keep bogging down so just stay away from that...

second one is a joke dont even look at anything like it again!

To exapnd on this, the Kestrel & Megs polishers are dual action - essentially they have a random orbital action. The cheapos are not random orbital - they are just a pad fastened directly to a motor.

Unless you are very good with a machine you want random orbital as a normal rotary will at best make the marring much worse. Get it wrong and you can quite easily get down beyond the laquer and start taking paint off. This would be bad...
E46 325ci - almost permanantly broken but still the best car I have owned!

Also note the AG products are chalk based and whilst giving good results, will leave a fair amount of residue about the place !
