So I have some of this stuff and find it great for general cleaning but I'm wndering what I can clean on my car with it...or maybe more importantly what I shouldn't try to clean with it.

    Will.

I have read in all these detailing posts people use this stuff. What does it actually do?

I think its just a multi purpose cleaner? I wouldn't use it on alloys unless it was properly diluted down or if I knew it was acidic or not.

on another note has anyone used autosmart canuba palm wax. its £9 for 400ml tub on sale. If anyones got reviews about it could you let me know because at the moment im using turtlewax wax (the green stuff) and it does give a good finish but it doesnt last more than 4-5 days.

As others have said Will, G101 is a great all-round cleaner. (APC - All purpose cleaner)

I use on Interiors, engine bays, alloys, tyres, sills and shuts, mats, petrol-filler housing etc etc etc.. the list goes on.

If you have a snowfoam lance, you can use as a pre-soak when you want a good 'deep clean'. Bear in mind it's likely to strip and protection you may have put down though, so, only use as and when you're starting 'fresh'.

I wouldn't reccomend using it on leather.. Even at a small dilution of ~1:10 - it can leave 'patches' and/or remove the colour if the finish on the leather is old and tired. Stick to LTT leather kit for that..

shamM3, Collinite is very well priced indeed. For ~£14 you're getting a highly durable wax/sealant that will outlast many of the more expensive waxes that come in at £40+. If the paints surface has been well prepped, I see no reason why you shouldn't get three months protection out of the 476s Colli wax (driving conidtions/storage/usage etc may vary!) (..it will run circles around your turtlewax wax)
