Ever since fitting my CCFL angel eyes a while back i've been a bit annoyed with how white they are in comparison to my dipped and full beams, but was holding off until i could afford an HID conversion. Well, I decided after having seen some of the "ice white/blue" bulbs in action that I may as well go for some for the time being, and this morning received my ABD bulbs in the post (very promptly I might add)

However, the dipped beams look just as yellow as before! They came in the box saying 6500K, just the same as the high beams, but are nowhere near the right colour. I'm very happy with the high beams, just a bit annoyed with the dipped. My understanding of the Kelvin rating system is that it describes the colour of the light emitted, not the light output, as that would be lumens, correct? And if so, should they not be the same colour?

I have sent an email off to Autobulbs Direct, but they don't seem to be as quick at answerng emails as they are delivering bulbs!

This can't be right? They also seem to have sent me the wrong gift, anormal sidelight as opposed to an LED one as specified, but tbh im not too fussed about that, wasn't going to use it anyway, probably just give it away!

It has been mentioned on the E46 section that Philips blue vision are a better match with AE's but to get a true likeness HID's are the way to go.

Yeah, I spent a long time looking at the philips, but at twice the price for a temporary solution I decided to go with the cheaper ones. Frome the chart there the HB4's (the ones on the left) look much nearer 3000K than the 6500K that they are described as!

So my reply from ABD was that the colour should match, so they would send out two more HB4 "ice blue" bulbs...I received one, and it was just as yellow, which I have duly returned and requested my money back.

So now, I figure Philips are the way to go. Has anyone got any pics of an e36 fitted with blue visions, just so i know what I should be getting and what they're like? car looks ridiculous just now with the AE's and high beams different from the dipped

    Cheers!
