I'm not into detailing but I've been finding more and more little black flecks on my silver paintwork which only seem to smear when I try and rub them off. I think it could be tar but haven't found anything to remove it. Any ideas anyone?

I use AutoGlym Tar remover - it's bloomin brilliant, took off some very stubborn number plate sticky pads in minutes as well - without effort

White spirit - Won't damage the paint if left on longer than normal tar removers, and it can be used on fresh paint unlike branded tar removers
And do yourself a favour, don't get a black car
