Bought some of this AG product off Ebay because it was a fair bit cheaper than Halfrauds and I was prepared to wait.

It smells 'polishy' but has the consistancy of water.... is this right?

Also the bottle had no tamper proof plastic on it.

    Have I been diddled?

Is it this stuff you have got?
    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...wshJWIVGEtnxUt

I used this a few weeks ago and found it to be brilliant...
You have to apply it to a polished car and it is like water. You apply it like polish but you have to leave it on the car to dry for half an hour. Then you polish it off like normal. It dries all milky but leaves an awsome shine.
I have now found that the dirt does not stick to the car and seems to stay clen for a long time....

I cant rember if the last bottle i got had the tamper proof plastic on, but I dont think it did when i got it from halfords...

Many thanks for the speedy replies!

Cobblers.... I knew I forgot to get wax. :-(

Edit: although on the Halfrauds website it says it can be used after a coating of SRP has been applied. So wax on, or no wax on Daniel son?

Either ways fine, TBH it's not 100% necessary to achieve a great shine, but it does stop crap sticking to you, always a bonus for your paintwork.

I'd look on ebay for some Collinite, thats a great hard wax, otherwise Megs gold is superb and far better IMVHO than AG's attempt.

I tried it recently on my Supra, but found that it wasn't as tough as Turtlewax professional Wax Sealant much to my dissapointment. As for the bottle itself, all new, unopened bottles by Autoglym come with a tamper-proof plastic seal on the lid.

It did a reasonable job but with some motorway work in the rain the dirt was sticking enough to make me strip it off, redo the car again and top it with Turtlewax's product mentioned above.

How many coats did you do? I usually do 15-20, maybe thats why I'm getting reasonable results? Otherwise I don't bother much with it....

Only 1 coat of AG EGP after AG SRP and AG Ultra Deep Shine.....

With TurtleWax Professional, 1 coat was still like it had just been applied after 4 months of motorways in the rain, heavy urban rain, etc. AG EGP was doing its job but just wasn't as tough and resilient and gave me little confidence to bother leaving on.

I will be using and finishing the entire bottle of AG EGP on the Volvo and Golf over the comming months simply to use the bottle up and then throw it away.
