Hi guys, I am looking at putting Xenons onto my 2004 3 Series Coupe, it has the facelift one part lights with the projector. What would you recommend for the lighting upgrade kit as I want the Xenons to look natural factory fit.
    Any comments welcome

Manj, have you got washers on your headlamps ?

To fit xenon/HID legally you need self levelling and washers. The 'authorities' are getting clued up on this fact at present.

You would also need projector lenses. The glare from your clear lenses won't go down well with other road users.

no...your lights have a reflector visible behind the plastic?
projector lights have a lens that concentrates the light produced into a more controlled beam pattern...i recently posted pictures of my angel eyes in 'whats your favourite mod' thread...i have projectors in those headlights (or check members projects).
there are hid bulbs available for normal headlights, you would need H7R bulbs, but i have no idea if they will still dazzle too much.
re washers and self-levelling,its true that factory fit stuff must have them, but afaik theres no such legislation for aftermarket fitments...YET.
    what i've felt,what i've known
never shined through in what i've shown.

So what do I need to make the projector style lights look like factory Xenons? I was told the 4.5k kit would be most natural, and because I have the projector facelift lights they should look factory.

    What do you think?

if you have the lens on your low beam headlight then you're ok.
do you know where you are going to get your kit from yet?
the hid bulbs aren't compatible with bm bulb holders, but there is a work around.
if you could post a link for the kit you've seen
