I am looking for anybody who has bought or installed HID xenons in a facelift 318ci convertible or similar. Fancying these ones below, heard good things about them, but looking to see if anybody has actually bough them or fitted themselves.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Xenon-HID-conv...#ht_7028wt_842

I am looking to see if you need to buy anything else or is this kit absolutley everything you need? I was wondering it there are problems with the canbus needing decoders???? Again dunno just read about them!!
Also with projector lamps do you need shrouds? To be honest I have heard about them but have no clue what they are or when they are needed.

    Any recomendations or experiences please.

Also what does everybody do for side lights? Don't fancy splitting my headlamps to fit angel eyes and don't want yellow side lights, and I think the LED will cause the dash warning, won't it???

    Aaagh questions questions questions........

i've got some on my car...very easy to do with no warnings on the dash
check which type of bulb holder you have cos you might need these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E46-3-SERI...d=p3286.c0.m14
projectors shape the beam very well with no extra parts needed to pass the mot.
i have angels on mine, but these might do for sidelights http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/White-Sideligh...d=p3286.c0.m14

I'm in the exact same position/have same car as you 2006 model, i'm also slightly hesitating to put HID kit on my car and i've still got BMW Warranty which I do not want to void but putting anything will which affect that!

Keep us posted if you buy something!

These kits simply plug in so if there were any warranty issues just remove them and no one would be any the wiser!

Will do but it may be a wee while as I am skint right now!!

Yo mate, when you are fitting it, u will have to take the spring that holds the bulb in place and feed the hid wires and then fiddle it back in the holder, smaller hads will be needed lol

You are meant to cut a hole in the cover of the dipped beam (for wires)but i just feed wires out and forced it close. Had no problem.

I've got them. - really good - had them for about 15 months now - no problems.
Took me 45mins to fit them. - 30 mins of this was routing the wires / fixing the ballasts.
    Highly reccomend them
Go for the 4500k - no too boy racerish....

if you buy a bmw specific kit it should come with all you need to make it fit...ask the seller if they come with them as you will need them
