    Having given away my previous polisher to a family member (it was a cheap one but worked well enough but was very noisy like an angle grinder lol) I've been looking for something to replace it with and seen this;

This is their DA polisher http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polish.../prod_519.html.

    Spec:

New and improved this DAS-6 Dual Action Polisher offers all the featuers of the more expensive machines at an affordable price.

The machine comes supplied with a UK 240v plug, is fully CE marked and has the peace of mind of a 1 year manufacturers warranty. Improvements include a heavy duty 3.1 meter cable and a D-Handle. We are also including a very special CleanYourCar.co.uk embroidered canvas carry case with every machine, perfect for storing the machine and accessories whilst not in use.

Dual action polishers are very popular with car enthusiasts and professionals a like as they are low risk but give much better results than polishing by hand. With a powerful 500w motor it is possible to removes scratches and swirl marks when used in conjunction with a machine polish. It is also a perfect for applying glazes, sealants and waxes.

    Specifications:

    Orbit Size: 8mm
Backing Plate Thread Size: 5/16" (same as Porter Cable, G220 and UDM's)
    Variable 6 Speed Dial: 2,500 to 6,500rpm
Removable side handle (left or right side of machine)
    Weight - 2.3kg (approx)
    Supplied with a Velcro Backing Plate Size: 125mm ( 5” )
    Fits 5", 6" and 6.5" polsihing pads
    Key Features:

CE marked / 240v with UK plug
    3.1 Meter Heavy Duty Cable
    D-Handle and Side Handle
    Canvas Carry Case
    Aluminium Gear Housing Cover
    CNC Finished Gears
    Electricity Feedback Circuit
    1 Year UK Manufacturer Warranty

(This will be what I'd get though (as above but with a sonus kit and some extra pads etc). http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polish.../prod_520.html)

The above seems like a good package, like the Meguiars G220 type machine but simply cheaper. However as I always like quality, can anyone confirm if the above DA polisher is upto scratch in terms of reliability and durability?

If this works as well as a Meguiars G220 thingy then I can't see the point in paying double the money....

I bought that last week Is a cracking little polisher. Having never used one before I set about correcting my cars paintwork (i bought the Sonus kit) And its done wonders...they have vanished..im just left with the deeper scratches now. It works well, and quickly, its not noisy, but does wobble abit being a DA. But i give it 10/10 Mainly cos i have never used anything else

Nimrod - Would I have seen your car at all in Nottingham at some time over the last several months at a BMW spares place (Midland Electrical I think is the name) in the Colwick area.

The car in your picture looks identical to the one I have seen there once or twice and its actually caught my attention, appeared to be very clean and tidy for an E36 4 door.

Back to the Polisher: a bit of a wobble is acceptable so long as its controllable but a direct comparison between this and the G220 would be great before I confirm a purchase.

Haven't used the CYC machine but do check out the Kestrel DAS-6 too. Very pleased with mine.

The big ring-style handles always seem a bit clunky to me.
