I'm looking for your opinions! I'm thinking of adding a simple touch to my car that could change its appearance quite a lot - basically spraying the black plastic trim that goes on the exterior of the car to the same silver as the main bodywork colour. I'd also spray the black plastic vent-type bit thats below the number plate.

Firstly, will this work being on a plastic surface? Will it all blend in or will it end up looking pants? Is there any temporary type paint/substance I can spray on to see how it looks?

And how do people think this will look? Tacky? Sporty? A nice, subtle but noticeable improvement?

Thanks in advance, here's a side photo with the black trim to accompany the black trim that goes round to the bumpers in my signature photo.

I would leave the black trim as it is Joe. It breaks the lines of the car up. Just get the M-Tech mouldings instead..

On most colours I would agree but my mate had a silver Touring and did exactly as you describe. It looked awesome, gave it a really clean and up to date appearance

I'll see if I can dig out the photo as I'm sure I scanned it on to my computer

Before doing this though Joe I would seriously advise that you replace your standard black mouldings with the M3 type. They go straight on and look far, far better

    Thanks for the replies

If you could find that photo A20 that'd be great, then if I decide I like it I'll get the M3 mouldings like you suggest

I had a quick look on my hard drive and it appears I didn't upload that picture

I will scan it in though and post it up for you so you have an idea of how it will look

As the top says, Leave them Black as they break the lines up.

I would suggest you go Gloss Block though. would look cleaner.
