Hi, I'm new to this forum but I thought I'd post up my upgraded angel eye mod.

    My car is a 2009 LCI 318d M Sport:

First of all I've read all threads pointing toward gaining access to the angel eye bulbs through the wheel arch liner, this is not possible so ignore this advice.

The angel eye bulbs are located as follows (bulb holder 2):

To remove you will need a short hex driver, remove the angel eye bulb holder by removing the 2 hex screws then rotating the bulb holder and it will pull out leaving you with this:

In order to remove the drivers side bulb you have to remove the air filter cover to gain access.

Now the only way to remove the bulb is to break the 2 plastic welds on the rear part that holds the bulb, do this and the bulb (H10W Halogen) will come out by push and turning.

Replace the 10w bulb with a 20w bulb from here.

I then fixed the bulb holder back in place with a multi-purpose adhesive and
    fixed back into the car.

The result is a brighter angel eye:

    Hope this helps anyone.

None whatsoever, which I'm quite pleased about, no trouble apparantly with the extra heat in the bulb holders either.

I think some one has melted the whole set up by using the 20W bulb so be careful with this diy. There is a post on this some where.
