Had a few days off this week so decided to undertake a protection detail on my E91 ready for the winter.... I didn't bother with any before or during pictures as it wasn't really dirty TBH, it was more about protection....

Steps included applying some APC (Autosmart G101) and rinsing after a short dwell time followed by snow foam (Autobrite Pear Drops snow foam) and another rinse, washed using Meguiars Gold class and the two bucket method with a wash mitt, rinsed again then used Autosmart Tardis and clayed the car using Autobrite Berry blast as a lube to remove any contaminants (not much came off TBH, but it was done for Gaydon in August). Then a final snowfoam rinse before drying and applying a coat of Autorite Cherry Glaze followed by two coats of Autobrite Distinction wax on the bodywork...

The wheels were removed, cleaned and sealed again with Autobrite Very Berry wheel sealer and the tyres dressed with Autobrite Berry Blast endurance gel. Plastics and trims dressed with Autobrite Bubblegum Vinyl trim protector. Finally I cleaned the glass with Rain-X (Not Autobrite!!!)

Anyway, pictures of the finished article, be gentle guys - it took two days...

Finally got some decent reflections in the silver paint that I am happy with....

    Looks great!

I carried out my first detail yesterday and didnt realise how time consuming it would be, took me 6 hours and still have the windows to do, I ran out of light!

I can waste days doing mine, love it, just wish I had more time to devote to the fleet... More to come though.

Thanks for the comments chaps, I never seem to get bored doing it, I find it relaxing... T.b.h I have had the car since it was twelve months old (ex demo 7k), and its never looked this good, I am very pleased with it now..

Always a good thing to have Damion... This Autobrite meet is all well and good, but my wallet takes a battering....

NOT THIS TIME, I only paid someone to do my E91 once, for my wedding last year due to lack of time, TBH it looked great, but had no durability and was dull as anything in no time (and cost a sodding fortune ).....

I enjoy it too much to let someone else do it again, going to do the wifes car next and my mothers Saab 93 convertible soon - I will make sure that someone takes some photo's of me actually doing the job....

Top job Kevin, I think Mark at Autobrite should give you discount for multi-use and free advertising
