sparkling graphite... one blob is dead centre on the bonnet, in a perfect 'splat' design. Guess it only really shows when I clean the car; in a week the normal London residue will even it all out. I will defo investigate the quick detailer stuff. Many thanks for all your help!

If you do decide you want a cheap rotary polisher (always handy to have).. Silverline do one for like £30.. I've got it and can highly recommend it

Also has a 3 year warranty so would be rude not to buy one

I keep a qd and mf in the boot so i can clean it off asap. Reckon a hand polish and wax is yr first best bet. Should work but if not then a machine polish

Going off track slightly, but is the car well waxed?

Im just wondering if wax protects against this toxic bird crap!

Wax will protect to some extent, a sealant a bit more better but bird lime is always best to clean off straight away no matter how much wax/protection you have on the car
