    Hi

I recently purchased bmw 318d 2007 m sport in black.

i want to get the orginal shine on the car. can anyone recommend products and techniques?

you can always see light scratches on all black cars so want it to give it a nice shine before the cold spell kicks in

    cheers

Wash the car then use a clay bar. If you want to get the swirl marks out you need to machine polish. Thoroughly clean with something like IPA Isopropylene Alcohol diluted in water. Next Poorboys Black Hole Glaze and finish with 2 coats of Collinite 915. BH and 915 are recommended for dark colours and are superb.

Personally I use Meguiars good value and easy to use. After washing with their NXT shampoo, use their claybar kit, then the three stage paint clean, polish and wax. I then top off with another product R222 carnuba wax. Always get a finish that gets admired.

Autoglym products are the best in my opinion. Used to do a bit of valeting a few years back and they always came up trumps and gave the best shine. What ever you do don't use turtle wax.

Yeh 915 is better for black cars but 476s gives longer protection i think.
It is great stuff and cheap and last you for years to come.

Now I see why you use Collinite, it lasts so long you don't need to do it so often. Great stuff. As for me....well I no longer work so need something to keep me occupied :
