    Story:

Went to Tesco... returned to be told by a friendly shopper that he seen someone smash into the back fo my car only to drive off without leaving details.

Bumper has a small crack in the paint about 6 inch long (looks like a spider web) and also you can see in the correct lighting conditions that the actual bumper itself is dented where it looks like the bumper has gone in on itself and hit the rear crash structure.

I have taken it to a few garages and the Just Car Clinic are the only ones who can do it next week for me. They said that their respray procedure would be:

    - Remove Bumper
    - Disconnect Parking Sensors, etc...
    - Spray the part that is damaged (Also repair it)
    - Fresh coat of laquer over the entire bumper

Anyone here know if the above will be ok? Im thinking that if he isnt respraying the entire bumper it would mean that the sides would blend into the rear quarters because the paint would be untouched?

    Any advice greatly apprechiated.

    J

How much is that going to cost though? Also, what color is your car? I think because your car is still quite new, the job he describes, just repairing and pating the damgaed area, and relaquering the entire bumper should be ok, espcially if it is a regular gloss color, i.e. black, silver and grey should be ok too.

That sounds about right, he could clearcoat the repaired area but if your cars a dark colour you'd be able to see where it was faded out if not done properly, plus its more work for them.

This way they repair the damage, flat the whole bumper, shoot colour on the damaged area and clearcoat it

Thanks all for your helpful replies. I feel alot better about getting it sorted now. Was worried it would stand out like a sore thumb!
Anyone had any dealings with Just Car Clinic?
