Ok the nightmare came true today when my 2 year old did an exorsist impression and threw up all over the rear seat, and carpet!

I'm looking for both professional advice and old wives cures I don't care I just want my pride and joy not to smell of sick!

I immediately scooped out the chunky bits (sorry!!) then washed the carpet and leather seats with autoglym Carpet shampoo and dried them with an old towel. I then conditioned the seats with gliptone and washed the car mat in the washing machine. The mat and seats are ok but the carpet is still smelly.

    Recomendations please??

Thanks for your suggestion I haven't tried either yet but have you? I am looking for recomendations preferably from people who have had a good result using the product.
AG stuff is usually good so I might try and pop in tonight on the way home and buy a bottle. I have been told bicarbonate of soda is the (old wives) recommended stuff, sprinkle it on the carpet and leave overnight then Hoover up the following morning- smell (allegedly) gone!!
Dunno about that bu I popped out at lunch time and the car, to be honesty isn't that bad, not giving me the boak BUT it s still noticible so will need fixed!!
    Thanks for the suggestion

Yeah thanks for the suggestion I got that from an old woman at work who swore by it!! I had some in the house so after I cleaned u sprinkled bicarbonate on the carpets ( didn't fancy coffee on my light grey carpets!!) ans left then over night then hoovered it all up. U think the smell has gone! Might be wishfully thinking but I'll see how it smells over the next couple of days and decide if it need further cleaning!!

Usedcar roadshow said to use charcoal over the backseats as it acts like a sponge and soaks up the smell? Was on TV so must be true They also mentioned the coffee and bicarb

Dont pour coffe straight onto the carpet... put it on a piece of kitchen roll and leave it on the carpet for a day or so... bicard is probably better..

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I don't know if I am being paranoid but I cleaned and then used bicarbonate sprinkled on the carpet, left it overnight then hoovered and repeated. Not happy so I bough AUTOGLYM odour eliminator and used that as well!

Getting into the car you can't smell anything but when you turn the fan on I think you get a whiff of it for a few seconds! Maybe I'm imagining it! I think I'll do the test, let my mates in the car for a lift without mentionng it and see if anybody comments???
