    Good evening all,

I fairly new to here & car styling in general! I currently own a 2006 E90 320d SE, in silver with full black leather.
I need advice on potential mod's & styling for my motor.....

    So far:
    I've swapped the standard 16's for 19' M3 alloys.
Replaced the standard Chrome Grilles for matt black ones.
Replaced the rusty exhaust for a Shiny chrome twin tailpipes
I've secured a carbon lip splitter from Ebay for £90, but yet to fit it (Is this a difficult job?)

I've got roughly £2.5k (ish) to throw at my motor over the next 6 to 12 months for a few upgrades.... Any suggestions?

I'm thinking about getting the BMW Performance brakes fitted? (About £1200 though, thats half the budget gone!!) Are they worth it/alternatives?
Any advice on Remaps, I've been looking at Superchips Bluefin/Evolve Automotive switch, £450 to £600, potential 35bhp (ish) increase, any thoughts?

What do you suggest about supension, is it worth getting it lowered, as its already running on 19's?

What else should i consider doing, spending my cash on?

Hi mate, if you post some pics there are many helpful people who would be able to help you.

£1200 for brakes i would hope they were good Anyone know if they fit e36?

If you're looking into a remap, check out some of the vendors on this forum. I had my 330d done by Emaps and was very pleased with the result.

But there's also Motech who have a good reputation, and both vendors are a lot cheaper than the Bluefin alternatives.

    Morning,

    Many thanks for the replies.....

I'll hopefully get some pics on here by the weekend, all being well.

The brakes are from the from the BMW Performance Range they released for the 1 & 3 Series, I know they cost a lot, but they look great!!

As for the remap, cheers SootE46, I'll certainly look into Emaps & Motech, so you'd recommend a Remap in general?

Any other advice, what other options are available to me to increase power?

    Cheers

    Gareth

get it lowered on eibachs (about £250 inc fitting/ £180ish if you can fit yourself).

re-map through emaps (vendor on he).

don't pay bmw for performance brakes! just get some ebc green stuff or red stuff drilled/vented discs and pads, probably cost max of £500 all round!

other than that i can't think of a lot to improve an already very nice car!

Thanks for the compliment, I'll try and get some pics on at the weekend.

In getting the BMW Performance brakes, I mainly want to replace the calipers, as the originals just look unsightly, I know £1200 is expensive but they look great!! Any replacement calipers you recommend instead of the BMW Performance one? If so, what am I looking at for cost & fitting?

How much do you recommend getting it lowered by? Its on 19's at the mo, which fill the arches just nicely!!

    Cheers in advance,

    Gareth

If you're not sure about the brakes mate you can use my car as a test. If you like them they'll be plenty left in your budget to stick some on your motor

    Thanks Mattbish,

So you've got the Performance Brakes fitted? Do you recommend them?

When & where did you have them done? What was the price? I've seen them advertised for approx £1200 + approx £200 for fitting.............. ouch, that'll dent the wallet!!

What else can I do to improve performance?

Can I fit an induction kit to a 320d, if so which one?

I'm not that clued up on car modding............. yet!!

    Any other recommendations?

    Regards

    Gareth.

Sorry mate, small undersatnding. I was pulling your leg - if you're not sure to put them on your car or not I meant you could buy some a put them on mine Then if you thought they were anygood buy yourself some too

Apparently there are pad's out there call 'Green Stuff' or something similar that are supposed to be good and would come in well below £1200 with replacement discs.

TBH though if you're looking at upgrading the brake why don't you just look at the 330d discs and pads? I'm not too sure on the diesels (i'd imagine they're the same) but the 330i petrol has larger discs and pads all round over my 320i. I also think they're the same size as M3 but don't quote me on that. They should then be good for 320-330 bhp and from Euro Car Part come it at around £3-400 all round(ish). I'd firstly get yourself booked in for a remap.

    Evening,

I get what you were saying now, Unfortunately my budget can't stretch that far! lol.

Definetly looking into get a remap sometime soon, still interested to know if theirs anything else i can do to increase power?

However with the brakes, its the calipers that I want to change, as the original BMW ones looks ordinary!! Any ideas?
