    Hi,

I have a 2005 318ci ES and I have an M badge on the steering wheel and the gearknob. Were these optional extras or do they all come with this? Like I said its a basic ES model.

It also has the 318ci badge missing from the bootlid, the logbook says its a 318 but with a 2ltr engine?

Iv had the car a year now but never thought to ask these questions!

    Thanks guys!

Just sounds like the previous owner has upgraded the parts himself

N46B20 engine, should be 1995cc IIRC. BMW has a mad spell where the engine size didn't correspond to the model number.

If the boot lid has been de-badged I would expect the ///M parts are additions by a previous owner. I think if you went for any kind of added package from the factory it would have some kind of letters after 318 to signify that other than the basics...

    HTH.

If you would like the car to look as it did when it came out of the factory i would get the badge and get standard steering wheel etc,

If you like the look then i wouldnt worry
