    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a general opinion on a possible mod to my 645ci (Coup). I'm thinking of getting her re-sprayed and re-sprayed in a proper mirra chrome paint no less. So it'll basically be a V8 mirror on 19" M6 rims!!

So what are your thoughts... To spray or not to spray???
Incidentally the std colour is metallic grey.

    Mirror paint......hmmmm.

How about an unusual wrap instead?

i looked at this for my mini and to get enough paint for it was going to cost abour 2grand...with your car itl be more like 3.5k then you need someone to spray it...itl be costly.
they make a vinyl wrap now in chrome which is a lot more affordable...i think its about 2.5k installed.

I think you'll be much better to get it wrapped in a chrome Vinyl, as the paint would me much harder to keep up to the same reflection you'd be happier with. Get it sprayed in another colour you have in mind, then wrap it.

That way when you want it the other colour you simply take off the vinyl and hey presto!

Thanks for the opinions chaps. I'm not sure myself yet, I'm just getting twitchy to mod the car (professionally). I have a couple of mates who are into modifying cars and I'm keen to distinguish myself from the crowd (but not chavtastic!). One mate is over on Audi-sport.net as 'In2Deep' and is building a 400bhp bored and stroked A4 quattro by hand, by himself, and the other has his own tuning company www.adedmundson.co.uk where he's got a 700bhp Evo, Europes fastest Scirocco doing 10s 1/4miles, a mental LAPD coloured skyline, a E55 Brabus pushing 583bhp and a totally mental 380bhp front wheel drive golf all to his name plus numerous 400bhp+ scoobies. I've also another mate who is uber knowledgeable about all things automotive!

I'm currently toying with 'us' building my own S321 stainless exhaust with pneumatic butterfly valves in the system linked to the inlet manifold and crank sensor to basically give me a gentle non-intrusive burble under normal driving but once the taps are opened past 4k rpm the noise of hell is unleashed! Possibly Supercharging the motor with a low pressure VF Engineering unit and a GIAC piggyback ecu dependent on cost. Or maybe just settle for the exhaust, filters, remap and 380bhp.

Basically we can turn our hands to anything, and do it properly, I've got access to CNC machines, fabshops, laser scanning equipment and anything else found in a engineering firm. Basicaly I begrudge paying £1000+ for a cheap noisy exhaust system that some monkey has cobbled together with MIG instead of TIG and everything is a mile out and doesn't fit. Oh and I'm trying to move house as well!

Anyway cheers for the input I'll probably not bother with the chrome, you only ever see it on cars that basque in the sun of LA, Monaco, Dubai. Gloomy Lancashire probaly wouldn't do it justice!
    Safe driving.

A lot of plans will go into the making, then. Be sure to create your own project thread to keep us updated with any and all progress!

Personally, I don't like chrome cars at all; glad to see you might have changed your mind. If you want it to stand out, why not think about a Matt Black wrap - Same sort of look as the batmobile in the new batman movies!

If it's a wrap it comes off very easily!

Of course the other choice is Alpine white... It always looks fresh, when it's clean!
