Hi, first off forgive me if it is the wrong place or has already been covered i am new thats my excuse :p and my spelling is shocking so please feel free to take the mick ! :(

I have a SE 525d and i have bid on a full M Sport kit before that comes I want to paint my shadowlines and pillar from the chrome SE look to the gloss black look to fit better with the M sport conversion.
    Has anyone done this before?
I can see the clips that hold the shadowline on but i can figure out if it pulls off or if it slides up, I dont want to pull so hard that I snap anything!

    Any advice please!!!

    Thanks

    Peace

Too much effort taking it all off and spraying it for me, plus you never know how paint is going to take to chrome, I did mine with vinyl. took 2 hrs one side, that was my first effort and judging how to do it best, when and when not to use heat blah blah blah. the other side took less than an hour and overall cost £7 for the vinyl from ebay and a cheap scapel set

I found doing as much as you could with a strip and cutting it vertical was a must, then doing the rest up to that cutting that vertical also so the overlap isn't too visible, Yes if you look at it from less than a foot away you can see this but lucky for me its matt so not so noticeable. obviously harder with gloss vinyl which I think you would have to do in a one so not to have any overlaps, possible but much harder.

I'm sure you have to remove the wing mirrors to get the shadow line of the front doors hence why I decided not to as I do believe you have to remove the door cards to get those off. As for the rears ones I didn't get that far as the fronts put me off lol.

Cheers bud yeah its finally getting there.

Yeah ive had the door cars of before when I was bored one day and decided to clean them properly on a bench ( silly idea i know but i had plenty of time on my hands and was giving the car a good clean) ive just spotted one where someone has sprayed them when on the car and they have stood the task or weather and time so i think ill give that a bash to be honest if i can mask up neet enough. yeah the vinyl i had was long enough to do it in one but with it being callender the ends looked tatty. Cast is what i needed really. I have done my interior trim in carbon fibre cast wrap and that was a good product and changed the look loads!
