I'm looking to sell my 3-series Coupe 2004 325 Ci Sport 2d Auto.

While I was away on holiday some thief stole the spoiler(more of a lip) off the back and in the process scratched up the boot as he/she obviously tried to use a crow bar or something.

I'm thinking if I have it resprayed and don't replace this boiler will it devalue the car considerably?

I don't want to have it replaced/fixed to then have it taken again before it actually sells!

What an average price I should I expect to pay for the respray of a boot?

    Cheers,

    Rob

thanks afcneal for the reply. I've ammended the original post.

I've added a pic of the damage. Just imagine that the damage is pretty similar all the way accross the boot.

Can that be touched up or would it need a full respray?

Loads of boots on ebay and at breakers yards for much less than the cost of a respray. I suppose it depends on the colour. I'm after a titanium silver one so have loads to choose from.

yeah I had a quick look and it looks like there aren't many silver grey but there are loads of silvers.

Even if by luck I'm surely going to get charged a load to change the old with the new as you need to change the locks lights and hook it all up......

You thought about getting the cheap ebay spoiler? Sent painted, will it not then cover the damage?

Nah I thought of that but all the damage is a couple of cm away from a lip spoiler so I still need to get rid of the scratches .......or get a bigger spoiler but then it's more likely to get stolen again.

Try to clean the surface and after that try to polish it, maybe it can be saved...
