I grounded the front skirt of my compact sport on a kerb at the weekend and have managed to break the side clips holding it in place. It's now hanging at an alarming angle but feels secure enough.
I popped it down to Knights BMW this morning and although I await their formal quotation was given the distinct impression that the whole skirt will have to be replaced as they say that the clips cannot be repaired.

Has anyone been unfortunate enough to have this happen to them and if so did they manage to get it repaired?

Also can anyone recommend a possible garage to make the repairs in the North Staffordshire / South Cheshire area?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Much obliged.

A couple pics attached (hopefully). Had a quote for £750 from a local repair centre who confirmed that the front skirt would need replacing. Looks like an insurance jobbie... Just waiting for Knights tomorrow

It looks like you have broken a little bit of the bumper off so it probably would be a new bumper but you can get one off ebay and get it sprayed...

    Heres one..

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E46-3-Seri...item19bc2c369a

And i had mine broke but i had to get my bonnet fixed, new bumper put on and bonnet and bumper sprayed for 300 quid!

Go find another bodyshop and say you got a new bumper can you spray it.. shouldnt cost you more than 200 pound!

Sorry Nick but from the first picture you can clearly see crack on the bumper (by the way I don't know why we talking about skirt - it's a bumper!!!) and that won't just slide back in :(
What I would do is take the bumper off and repair that bit where has been cracked. It's obviously not 2 minutes job but I don't know where is that £750 from and what for!!!

Let us know what you gonna do
