Hi all, great forum many top tips for a nooby like me

I today pulled my drivers side fron window up to the horror sound of scratch glass, apart from it making my hairs stand on end it has put scratchs fron top to bottom along the whole window

So i have tried to polish the scratches out but to no joy. I have just been to bmw in harold wood and orderd a new one at what i thought was a bargin price of 72 quid also got a new rubber seal the window comes up through so that maybe this dont happen again.

Anyway enough waffle what id like to know is that has anyone here fitted one before?? and if so is it difficult? im not a complete numpty lol so maybe i could have a go? Or does anyone here know or indeed work for a autoglass company that would be willing to do it for me,not for free ofcourse.

    Cheers in advance gents

its not completely difficult, you have to take the door panel off there are 4 torx screws t20 or t25 behind the trim and underneith the handle, then you pry it off with a screwdriver its only held in with some white clips, dont worry they wont break either, then you need to roll the window about 2/3 of the way down to get to the window mount screws, il upload some pics, id help you out if you wernt so far away! also DO NOT UNPLUG THE AIRBAG. not that you need to, unless changing the window regulator.

it doesnt matter if you do unplug the airbag. as long as the ignition isnt on (or used whilst doing the job) the OBD will be none the wiser

Better to just disconnect the battery when doing airbag work
