Hi guys, i was thinking of getting some LED rears for my 2003 m3.
I am newish to BMW modding so be gentle with me

From my bit of research i have struggled to do, i have found that i think to put oem led back lights in, you need an adapter harness, new lcm, and get lcm flashed at dealer.?..
but i because my car is 2003, my Lcm doesnt need to be replaced?, just flashed?
Also will i need the adapter harness for lights considering its 2003?

I have seen a few after market led lights, that seemingly dont need new lcm of re flash etc etc, seen them on magazines and on flea bay,
    anyone have these?
are they very similar to oem or do the look crap?

    Thanks guys

just done mine my cars a 2003 like yours, you will need the adapter cable £20 from the dealers and your lcm reflashed, you wont need a new lcm so if someone tells you you do there going to charge you for nothing.

Hey Tony, did you go for oem ones? mind if i ask you the price of lights and the lcm flash? im still waitin on dealers to get back to me. 2 days now

If i was lucky enough to come across say a damged 04 coupe that had LED rears, if i bought them and the Lcm from that damaged car, can i put Lcm in my car or is there a problem with chassis number mileage etc etc, think i remember something about this?

i swapped the lights out of my 330 so it was a freebie, the lights should be fine and you shouldnt need the lcm,its about 55 quid for a reflash

I thi nk i have a set located in damaged coupe, so fingers croseed i mite have them 2mro. reason i asked about lcm was that knowing my dealer, it would of could be cheaper to buy the lcm from damaged car aswell than to get mine flashed, but dont think you can change lcm around

oK, so dealer got back to me today, and omg
Using my chassis number they told me i would need a new lcm fitted so that will bring total in at around 750 euro!!!!! and thats just the lights and lcm, presume it will need flashing aswell!!!!

Now i have picked up a set of 2nd hand OEM leds, and the LCM from the car aswell...
What will happen if i get the adapter harness for lights and fit them, and put the LCM from other car into mine? other car was a 2004 330d coupe?? Help really appreciated lads, no way am i paying the dealer price.
