    Hi All,

There seem to be so many different angel eyes/HID/LED/CCFL/Xenon options available, I need some advice please, I dont know what I need.

My car is stock as far as the lights go. I want to upgrade to bright white Angel eyes. Am I correct in assuming LED's are better than xenon due to heating issues? Would I be better off ordering from someone like this and having them install for me? http://www.ca-at.co.uk/variants-Y2Fy...kPTI0NDk=.html

Is that a complete set for all the head lights?
If I want matching fogs, what bulbs do I need?
    Do I need shrouds?

As you can tell I dont know much at all about this!

    Thanks

    Hello there,

i bought my angel eyes from ca automotive, check my install out in my sig for pics

Just to clear things up for you, there are two types of angel eyes:
    ccfl
    LED's

both are bought as four rings that you fit into your exsting head lights, so you take them apart like i have in my guide and put them back together with your angel eyes inside

So the ones you have linked to are just rings,

there are places that sell them as complete sets, already in the head lights

I have umnitza orion 2's fitted, they are LED's and bright white

    dont know about fogs,

shrouds are only for if you are fitting a HID lamps to your head lights

They are expensive!!! . I've been looking for complete headlights with angel eyes installed and have found some for approx £200. I'm still looking though so may get some better ones. Check ebay the ccfl angel eyes are about £45...

Thanks! Orion2's are what Im considering, possibly the whole complete headlight unit, Il have to compare them. I dont really want CCFLs as they tend to give problems with resistors or something blowing, cant remember what I read exactly.
As far as fogs go, Ill have a word with CA if I go that route and see what they recommend

ccfls have inverter packs, one for each pair of rings, they can break and you need to replace the inverter, (£5 ish each i think)

CA will tell you what will best match them, they are pretty helpful there tbh

The umnitza's are very good, and even though they are expensive compared with ebay alternatives if i was to buy anouther set i would buy umnitzas again, a few people have them on here and they are all very happy with them

ive been running mine as DRL's so they are on all the time, for about a year now (15k miles) and have had no problems at all with them

As with most things, you get what you pay for! I really dont want to be messing about with inverters. I want it installed and thats it
Just one concern I have is, in your DIY you mentioned that they're too bright, is that on at night with a single ring only or both rings on both sides on?

Very true, buy cheap buy again

yes at night they are very bright,

to be fair they are so bright that you can see them on a sunny day,

at night they light up the road, both rings are on all the time, so diped beam two rings and side light

i made a small circuit with a relay to dim them down when you switch the head lights on, there is a link to that in my DIY
