    Hi all,

Per title I have a 2003 E46 330d and I would like to replace the front, rear and side repeater indicator bulbs with silver versions. (i.e. look silver/colourless but flash orange.) I want to use proper bulbs not LED's.

Can you please tell me what the spec of each pair of bulbs are? (e.g. I think the side repeaters are probably 501's?)

Also, are there any tips I should be aware of with respect to swapping the bulbs over? (For example, how do you get to the side repeater bulbs?)

    Cheers,
    Ben

Ok, I used this website to find the bulbs required:
    http://www.powerbulbs.com/bulb_finde...id=995&bulb=10

And I've ordered some from here:
    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ACEparts-Performance-Lighting

But I still don't know how to get at the side repeater bulbs. Anyone know please?
    Thanks.

I think there is a single x-point screw ontop of the indictor light pod itself, just to the rear.

Slacken it off, and the whole lense and reflector (sealed unit) comes out, with the bulb holder attached. Is literally a 1 minute job.

you can always save a few ££ and just give your amber bulbs a light dusting with a can of silver paint, does the same job.

Does this affect the light, or in other words, if i did this would you still see the indicator flashing?

Surely you then wouldn't be able to see the amber indicator flashing which would be an M.O.T failure..

For the amount that a few sets of silver bulbs will cost I wouldn't bother..

I've got Philips silvervision front and back and silvertec 501 side repeater bulbs.. probably didn't cost £20 for the lot..

If your car is a pre-facelift the side repeater lens' just push forward and pull out.. it's like a pressure clip holding it into the arch.. I would imagine facelift models are the same just the lens is a different shape.

I know of a member on here who painted his bulbs silver with primer. They look the part and shine amber
