    Hello,

I recently had a scratch from a low wall to the drivers door and I've had this repaired but I'm not happy with the result. After talking to the body shop they've advised for a perfect finish I should replace the door. Fair enough, but I wish they'd told me this before undertaking the work!

I've found a door in the same color, Stahl Blue, but I don't know if I should expect the color match to be the same, I'm guessing it wont be and I'll need some extra spray work to blend it in?

Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Simon

If you do need to blend the car in with the new door make sure you don't go to that body shop. They can't repair a door? Come on..

If your lucky you might get a good colour match, try get one from the same month and year.

Thanks for the quick reply. I know, I used 'Dent Magic' in Bristol and was expecting a better finish because they said it would be an easy repair. When I spoke to them about it they agreed with me and 'could see where I was coming from' but it was a 'repair' and that's the best they could do with out replacing the door.

The donor car is a 2001 model and mine's a 2003. Maybe I should keep looking for the right month and year match and find somewhere else to spray/blend it in.

I'd look at another body shop mate. Whats the repair like? Can you get some pics up, your door may be repairable don't believe a bodyshop that can't even repair small damage like that.

I've seen wings/bumpers/doors/bonnets come in dented to fcuk and they've left the body shop looking better than a brand new panel.

It looks fine face on but when the light catches it you can see it's not true and you get almost a ripple effect, which looks to me like it's not been rubbed down or finished properly to follow the line of the door before spraying.

Good call on getting a second opinion before buying another door.

    Thanks again.
